Director of Membership Services
POSITION SUMMARY
The Membership Director works closely with the CEO, CEO, Board and Diplomat Council to support strategic membership growth, engagement, retention, and communications. This position serves as a primary relationship manager for members and prospective members, fostering strong connections within the organization and ensuring a high level of member satisfaction and participation. The Membership Director also maintains accurate membership records, coordinates member programs and events, and supports member outreach and communications initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Development & Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the CEO and Diplomat Council to develop and implement strategies that support membership recruitment, retention, engagement, and overall growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current, prospective, and former members to strengthen member involvement and long-term participation.
- Identify opportunities to enhance member value and improve the overall membership experience.
Membership Sales & Recruitment
- Promote membership through outreach efforts, walk-ins, networking, community engagement, and telephone or in-person sales calls.
- Prepare and deliver membership presentations and informational materials.
- Maintain current membership packets, promotional materials, and membership resources.
- Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for prospective members.
Membership Retention & Member Relations
- Support member retention efforts by maintaining regular communication and delivering responsive member service.
- Work with leadership to develop programs, benefits, and engagement opportunities that strengthen member satisfaction and loyalty.
- Address member questions, concerns, and requests professionally and promptly.
Events & Member Engagement
- Coordinate and promote membership events including luncheons, mixers, ribbon cuttings, and other networking opportunities.
- Encourage member participation and help create meaningful connections among members, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Support event logistics, communications, and follow-up activities.
Communications & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records and databases.
- Assist with newsletters, member communications, surveys, flyers, and promotional materials.
- Update website and membership information regularly to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Respond to member inquiries and provide administrative support as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
