Hourly Rate: $37.70 - $50.53 with benefit package

El Dorado Transit is seeking a proactive, knowledgeable, and safety-minded professional to serve as our next Safety Program Manager. This management-level role is responsible for leading and overseeing the agency’s safety, security, and risk management programs. The Safety Program Manager also serves as the Designated Employer Representative (DER), working alongside the Drug and Alcohol Program Manager to ensure compliance with the FTA Drug & Alcohol Testing Program for safety-sensitive employees.
The Ideal Candidate
A successful candidate will be a safety professional with demonstrated experience implementing agency-wide safety and emergency preparedness programs. They will possess excellent knowledge of applicable OSHA/Cal-OSHA and FTA regulations, exceptional organizational and training skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in occupational health and safety, risk management, or a closely related field, and six (6) years of increasingly responsible safety and risk management program experience. Ability to obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement within 90 days of employment including Verification of Transit Training certification; Safety Certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) and First Aid & CPR certifications within 12 months of appointment.
