About
Placerville Art on Parade is a community art project that is a collaborative effort of artists, businesses, organizations, individuals, and city government that promotes the arts and tourism on Historic Main Street in Placerville, California. It is one of the longest-running community art projects in California with 471 pieces of wonderful community art displayed over the last sixteen years (2005-2020).
In the first year of the exhibit (2005), artist-painted wheelbarrows were displayed; in the second year of the exhibit (2006), artist-painted wine barrels were displayed. From 2007 through 2020, artist-painted canvas banners (30''W x 60''H) have been displayed—a total of 414 banners have been displayed on Main Street.
Banners for 2021 will premiere at the Images of Hope Picnic in the Orchard on June 5 and then will be displayed on Main Street from June through October 2021 and auctioned during an online auction in October 2021. As in past years, there will be keepsakes available: posters, postcards, coffee mugs, magnets, and bookmarks.
2021 is the 17th year of Placerville Art on Parade! -
